Students from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Group 3 – Digital Photography and Cinema Course) are holding open casting calls for their upcoming short film, “Futura.” They are looking for actors and extras to fill a variety of roles.

The production needs two male lead actors, one portraying someone aged 18-20 and the other 25-30. For supporting roles, they are seeking both male and female actors aged 35-50 and 25-40. Furthermore, they require extras, both male and female, aged 18-40.

Filming is scheduled to take place in Turin from May 22nd to 25th, 2025. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply via email to [email protected]. Applications should include two color photos (close-up and full body) against a neutral background, age, clothing size, height, residence or domicile, telephone number (parent/guardian contact for minors), and a brief introduction detailing any prior acting experience.

It is important to note that preference will be given to applicants residing in the Piedmont region. Given the project’s academic nature, compensation or expense reimbursement will not be provided. The casting is being managed by Anna D’Agnese and David Bosonin.

While unpaid roles might deter some, this presents a valuable opportunity for aspiring actors to gain experience on set, collaborate with film students, and build their portfolio. The student film project offers a platform to showcase talent and contribute to the creation of an artistic project. Will local talent embrace this chance to shine, despite the lack of financial compensation? The success of “Futura” will undoubtedly depend on the passion and dedication of those involved.
